One month at a time

I'm the worst blogger . . . I blog about once a month if that . . . but since the summer is only four months long . . . that means this blog will see about four entries . . . oh well . . . that's not true . . . I usually blog more as the summer progresses.

Anyway . . . so I'm not sure what I've said about the summer so far . . . but this is what has happened . . .

I graduated . . . I said that already . . . I remember that.

I went to Maine in May. It was beautiful—and cold—for me at least.

Don't let the shorts fool you . . . I was FREEZING—hence the jacket.

Side note . . . this blog is mainly for me . . . so I remember my summers.

Anyway . . . After Maine I went home and moved out of my parent's house. Meaning I packed up all my earthly belongings (or most of them) and put them in my parents storage so I'd be ready to move at the end of the summer to wherever I ended up getting a job.

After that was over I drove to Massachusetts to work at camp.

However . . . camp proved to be a challenging situation for me for various reasons . . . nothing really wrong with camp . . . except that I just didn't belong there. Sooooo . . . I went back to Maine for a week because it was just so darn beautiful and peaceful up there. lol. From that most northern point on the eastern side of the U.S. I figured out my next move.

ADRA!!! So then I took a leap of faith for me and moved to Maryland for the rest of the summer for an internship at ADRA. And that's where I still am . . . in fact I just got here and am still in my first week on the job. I'm loving it so far.

In other news . . . this is the transition my hair has taken over the course of the summer.

And that's it for now . . . peace.

I'm Back . . . Round 3

So this is my 3rd summer of using this blog . . . I'm getting quite fond of it. Although I completely forgot about it until tonight . . . lol. I'm already one month into my summer.

Things that have happened since I last blogged.

• Graduated college
•  . . . and that's pretty much all that matters . . . (here are some of my senior photos by Anthony Matos)

This spacing is kinda wack . . . I'm not really sure what to do to make it look like I want to . . . lol

I'm Baaaaack . . . #2

I'm Back, and by back I mean back at Southern for my last semester of college. And by being back that means that the summer is over. I'm sorry I didn't share all my adventures or even post half the blog posts I thought about but it's time to say good-bye to this blog until next summer. I'll probably start some other blog and start posting there. But until then, this blog is going to hibernate.

Blessings to all of you who kept up with me this summer! :)

Men With Beards

I've found a museum/tourist hobby! Find all the artwork that features men with beards, photograph it, and then make a collage of the photos and post them on Instagram—and subsequently everywhere else.

So far I've found bearded men at the Smythsonian National Portrait Gallery:

At the United States Capital Building:

And the National Postal Museum:

My perfect day...

Yesterday was perfect! Exactly what I needed—exactly what I wanted all summer! A day in DC.

This escalator was so dizzying! #metrostation

We were here!

And here's the proof!

Can't be a tourist without a jumping photo! One of the things on my DC check list for the day was to get a picture wearing my spectrum socks in front of one of the monuments. ;)

Finishing the day off right with a burrito from Chipotle!

Sketches

I haven't drawn this much since the semester ended and I wasn't required to for class...I hated that art class. But now, 3.5 months later, I'm finally drawing again—and enjoying it.

Reveal Your Dignity

So I guess I'm on a bit of a Sara Bareilles kick right now, but I was going through some of her videos on YouTube tonight when I found this one about picking out her clothes.

Being a bit of a fashionista, I loved that this was about her own personal style and what she likes to wear. Also being someone who is unashamed to believe in and practice modesty, I thought it was cool that Sara looks for clothes that aren't too revealing.

I will warn you, however . . . the video does contain some four letter words. Watch at your own discretion.
