He was from Hungary.
She was from Washington DC.
He lived in Switzerland.
She lived in Georgia.
They met at her school while he was touring the States.
He was there only a weekend.
They’d remember each other forever.
Two years later he came back looking for her.
But he didn’t find her.
So he went back to Switzerland. Alone.
She eventually moved back to DC.
Two years after that he returned to the States again.
They re-met on a blind date in the city.
That night he invited her to go back to Switzerland with him.
They were engaged in two weeks.
They were married in five months.
The date was the Fourth of July.
That was 30 years ago.
